Scalea Waterbed with your choice of water mattress: a complete padded hardside wood-frame waterbed with a large angled sit-up headboard that lets you sit up comfortably to read or watch TV. Comes with your choice of premium faux leather or microsuede fabric upholstery. Choose your water mattress: The more expensive models contain more fiber fill and are more waveless. Our patented double-wall (DW) leak-proof models give added peace of mind. All have extra fiber in the lumbar area for better back support. Be healthier, feel better, and live longer: In the beginning of life, we were encased in water in the womb. Our bodies were weightless. Tissues were protected and allowed to grow and develop. The gentle warmth made us feel secure and meant we did not need to expend energy to produce our own body heat. Today, over 60% of our bodies are still water. Sleeping on a Strobel Organic waterbed is natural and healthier and will likely help you feel better and live longer. Feathertop pressure-reduction surface: Our deep molded surface provides lower skin pressure and more comfort than any other waterbed. The water molds to your body shape in any position, providing even, all-over support with no pressure points. You feel weightless, supported, and secure. Temperature comfort year-round: Strobel waterbeds can keep you warm in winter and cooler in warmer months. Simply turn down the waterbed thermostat, and the convection current of the water will carry away your body heat and actually make you cooler. Soothing muscle and joint pain: Sleeping on a heated waterbed offers exceptional pain relief, custom temperature control, and superior hygiene compared to traditional mattresses. Arthritis relief: Waterbeds provide excellent arthritis relief by eliminating high-pressure points and incorporating therapeutic heat. When you rest on a water-filled mattress, your body weight is distributed evenly across the entire surface. This fluid support drastically reduces stress on inflamed joints, lowers morning stiffness, and improves overall sleep quality. Back pain relief: Decreased surface pressure combined with heat dilates blood vessels. This increases blood flow and delivers more oxygenated nutrients to your spine. Allergy and asthma relief: The sealed vinyl mattress surface prevents dust, dead skin, and bacteria from sinking inside. This helps deprive dust mites of a breeding ground. Mental health benefits: Sleeping on a heated waterbed may provide mental health benefits by lowering cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone, supporting the nervous system’s relaxation response, and maximizing deep, restorative REM sleep cycles. Cognitive recovery: Uninterrupted sleep cycles optimize memory consolidation and creative problem-solving capacity the following day. More intimate: You feel closer to your partner, and people say two things are better on a Strobel waterbed—one of them is sleep. Toss and turn less: Other mattresses can cut off circulation, causing you to toss and turn. You will sleep better. No toxic chemicals like in regular mattresses: The 2007 federal open-flame mattress regulation raised the use of toxic chemicals in mattresses to a new level. Strobel waterbeds are exempt. Even our softside waterbeds, which look like regular beds, are exempt from the regulation because we know how to build them, unlike many competitors. Check out the acutely toxic and cancer-causing chemicals used in mattresses and the health risks at PeopleForCleanBeds.org. There are no labeling requirements for the chemicals used, so there is a lot of misinformation in the market. Easy assembly: Unlike old-style waterbeds, our beds are preassembled at the factory. All brackets and screws are attached. Simply align the corners and tighten the screws. Better construction: Ours is a tube-truss design made from newer-technology manufactured wood like that used in trusses. It is stronger, better, and will not warp, split, or crack like old-fashioned 2x10 soft pine frame construction. Wider sitting edge is more comfortable: Old-style 2x10 waterbed frames were sharp to sit on and only 1.5 inches wide. Ours is 2.5 inches wide under the foam padding. Easy to handle: Ships in 6 cartons by small-parcel carrier, like UPS. Comes with frame, headboard, water mattress, heater, safety liner, deck, pedestal, and fill-and-drain kit with conditioner. Carriers sometimes deliver packages on different days. Don’t be alarmed if all cartons don’t arrive on the first day. Since 1974: Strobel began manufacturing waterbeds in 1974, more than 50 years ago, and has risen to become the leader in waterbeds. Made in the USA: Handcrafted with pride in the USA.
