CD200, also known as OX-2, is a 45 kDa transmembrane immunoregulatory protein that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. CD200 is widely but not ubiquitously expressed. Its receptor (CD200R) is restricted primarily to mast cells, basophils, macrophages, and dendritic cells, which suggests myeloid cell regulation as the major function of CD200. CD200 knockout mice are characterized by increased macrophage number and activation and are predisposed to autoimmune disorders. CD200 and CD200R associate via their respective N-terminal Ig-like domains. In myeloid cells, CD200R initiates inhibitory signals following receptor-ligand contact. In T cells, however, CD200 functions as a costimulatory molecule independent of the CD28 pathway. Several additional CD200R-like molecules have been identified in human and mouse, but their capacity to interact with CD200 is controversial . Several viruses encode CD200 homologs which are expressed on infected cells during the lytic phase . Like CD200 itself, viral CD200 homologs also suppress myeloid cell activity, enabling increased viral propagation. Specifications Synonyms CD200; MOX1; MOX2; My033; MRC; OX-2; OX2 Uniprot No. P41217.1 Source Recombinant Human CD200/OX-2 Protein is expressed from HEK293 Cells with His tag at the C-terminal. It contains Gln31-Gly232. Molecular Weight Approximately 23.5 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 40-60 kDa based on Tris-Bis PAGE result. Purity > 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Activity ELISA Data: Immobilized Human CD200 at 0.5μg/ml (100μl/Well) on the plate. Dose response curve for Human CD200 R1, hFc Tag with the EC50 18ng/ml determined by ELISA. Endotoxin < 1.0 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method. Formulation Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS (pH 7.4). Normally 5% trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization. Reconstitution Centrifuge tubes before opening. Reconstituting to a concentration more than 100 μg/mL is recommended (usually we use 1 mg/mL solution for lyophilization). Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. Storage Transported with ice packs. Store at -20℃ to -80℃, valid for one year. After reconstitution, store unopened at -20 to -80°C for 3 to 6 months. After reconstitution, store at 2 to 8°C for 2 to 7 days.。 It is recommended to store in aliquots and freeze for the first use to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Note 1. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. 2. For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and disposable gloves when operating. 3. This product is for scientific research purposes only. Product Data
