Barbara Lewis This 1969 modernist abstracted photograph by Chicago-based painter, photographer, and printmaker Barbara Lewis (1925-2008). Lewis studied at the Art Institute of Chic ago (1943), University of Illinois at Chicago (1967-70), and the IIT Institute of Design (MFA in Printmaking, 1970-72). Through her mixed-media compositions, she explored Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art, often using imagery of Chicago and her travels to Europe and Northern Africa. 1969 Photograph on Paper 16"x18.5" framed, 7.5"x9.25" unframed Signed and dated lower right.
