Procurement is often seen as very dry and stuffy yet provokes a disproportionately large amount of anger. This is especially true where individuals and practices have spent long hours writing responses to tender where they know they can deliver the project, yet don’t even get a chance to pitch properly. Post-Brexit there are changes to the legal regulations affecting public procurement which may affect your business. These include the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA), international procurement opportunities and reserved contracts (PPN 11/20). Additionally, we are seeing an increased use of Frameworks and Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS) in the public sector. A tender offers you an opportunity to demonstrate that you understand what is important to the Buyer and how you can help them. By considering some of the key issues of the moment you will get ideas for how you can improve your scores and write more effective tender responses. This module will provide a round-up of the current rules and what you need to know in order to compete effectively. Some of the key learning outcomes of the module will include: Understanding the regulatory and legal context for procurements post-Brexit Recognising buyers’ perceptions of risk Having a checklist of issues to verify and/or resolve within your own practice Knowing the impact of scoring and evaluation methodologies How to highlight relevant skills and experience within your responses Being able to predict your chance of success before you get underway Carol Hustler Carol Hustler has more than 20 years' experience of successfully winning a lot of contracts in a wide variety of sectors, including architecture, construction, printing and marketing.
