Barbara Lewis Entitled Barcelona II this 1979 cityscape photoemulsion on paper scene is by Chicago-based painter, photographer, and printmaker Barbara Lewis (1925-2008). Lewis stud ied at the Art Institute of Chicago (1943), University of Illinois at Chicago (1967-70), and the IIT Institute of Design (MFA in Printmaking, 1970-72). Through her mixed-media compositions, she explored Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art, often using imagery of Chicago and her travels to Europe and Northern Africa. 1979 Photoemulsion on Paper 17.75"x20.25" framed, 11"x14" unframed Framed in a restored vintage wood frame with a gold foil face using 8-ply archival matting behind conservation clear glass.
