Reckonings: Contemporary Short Fiction by Native American Women is an anthology of short stories written by fifteen Aboriginal women from the United States. This selection offers t wo or three stories by each author to allow the reader to find a deeper understanding of the writer's work. The editors chose to include enrolled tribal members as well as those who self-identify. A brief introduction examines the works for themes such as identity and life cycles.
