Grainne's mother disappeared years ago when her parents divorced. Now, bafflingly, she's reappeared and wants to meet. What could she be up to? To avoid this prickly reunion, Grain ne's stepmother, Sandra, takes her two boys on a dog-sledding holiday in snowy Finland. But before they're more than a few days out, Sandra's sled disappears, and the boys must take impossible risks to save her life.
