Writer Ivy Savage and physician Christien de Lacey must use all of their wits and resources to beat the Mad Lord to the Empire of Steam, figure out the riddle of the lockets and prevent what could very well be the end of the world. For what the Mad Lord seeks is the elusive Lostlight, a locket sought by all the empires of the world, and they will stop at nothing, even a World War, to procure it.
