Here is a series of books to help children in Key Stage 2 who have specific learning difficulties in mastering literacy in Welsh. The series centre on phonetic and linguistic patterns based on 'O Gam i Gam' (Griffith, updated by Thomas and Jones, 2009) and Ffynhonnell Eirfaol (Hughes, 1978). The books are relatively short, between 16 and 28 pages, to attract the interest of those children who are usually reluctant to read. There is a special website for the the series; www.canolfanpeniarth.org/metsmaesllan, which includes digital and paper activities to accompany each book to reinforce vocabulary and language patterns presented. The books and activities have been graded at 4 levels to develop reading skills and each one builds on the previous level.
