Do you know who owns these woods? Who owns old oak and pointy pine? Who owns root and branch and leaf; who calls this forest "MINE"? Follow a little boy and his grandma as they wan der through the wild and wonderful woods. From the forest creatures who scamper, crawl or fly through the leaves to the trees and plants which sway with the breeze, the woods are full of curious and beautiful life. As the boy is introduced to more and more of the phenomenons of the forest, he begins to ask an important question: Who owns the woods? This thought-provoking picture book teaches readers to appreciate how special the great outdoors is and encourages them to play their part in protecting it. Beautiful artwork from Jess Mason perfectly captures how untameable and sublime nature can be, and flowing, lyrical text from Emily Hibbs explores how we can enjoy nature in a respectful way. Immerse yourself in the beauty and wildness of the environment, and consider the poignant question of whether nature can be owned. Show more
