This book is compiled by the sons and daughters of the eight Siop Newydd girls. Siop Newydd was a hardware and decorating shop overlooking Eldon Square in Dolgellau where eight gir ls (Phyllis, Nanw, May, Doris, Lottie, Iola, Hilda and Beryl) lived at various times with their parents Richard and Jane Jones who ran the shop from 1923 until Richard's sudden death from a heart attack in 1946.
