This catalogue is published for a retrospective exhibition of paintings by Milton Resnick (1917-2004). The catalogue doubles as a monograph on Resnick's work, documenting his over- 50-year career, beginning as a member of the first generation of abstract expressionist painters in the late 1930s, and developing into a painter of thickly textured, seemingly monochromatic paintings of powerful emotional force. The exhibition is drawn largely from the Foundation's holdings, but also includes major loans from museum and private collections.
