Norberto Gramaccini shows that the tradit ional attribution to the Venetian painter Jacopo Bellini and the interpretation of the contents contingent on it have to be subjected to a revision. Based on new findings, the book of drawings actually belonged to Bellini’s son-in-law Andrea Mantegna, and his pupil, the Paduan painter Francesco Squarcione, was responsible for creating them.
