The early drawings of Lebanese painter Seta Manoukian reveal a strong and original artistic hand and a keen sense of composition. Of Armenian descent, Manoukian was teaching at Leb anese University when the Civil War began. After 10 years of war in Lebanon she fled to Los Angeles, where she lives today, as a Buddhist nun.
