Viktor is an eccentric thirty-year-old man who escapes the hustle and bustle of the city every weekend to his cabin in the woods, where he creates beautiful sculptures from wood. His difficult-to-manage nature gets him into trouble, the tragic consequences of which affect not only his future life but also that of his best friend, Medvěd. At one point, it seems that everything is falling apart, and both he and Medvěd feel that life, as they knew it, has ended and that nothing can ever be the same again. However, circumstances will show both of them that there are other paths to take, that things are not as they seem, and that some losses can ultimately lead to greater gains. The author's second book is equally engaging, and its gripping plot, with a surprising resolution at the end, will captivate readers.
