With Hitler in Poland is another volume in the Military History in Photography series. In this edition, the Naše vojsko publishing house publishes not only original period publications but also new authored works dedicated to the military history of the 19th and 20th centuries. The publication you hold in your hands depicts not only the German military success but also speaks to the baseness of the German propaganda machinery. The purpose of this illustrated publication was to justify the outbreak of war, aimed not only at domestic but also international public opinion. However, the selection of photographs and the accompanying comments show that German propaganda failed to keep exaggeration and falsification within reasonable limits in several cases, which, besides its pompousness, also gained a touch of absurdity in some instances. The publisher decided to release this publication as a document of the era, with original texts, without corrections, modifications, or explanations. Thanks to it, the reader has the opportunity to compare the propagandistic interpretation of those historical events with the known reality.
