Joker, Pluto, Timur, Fox, Aramiska, Saracen… these are the main characters in stories by renowned Czech authors, where the relationship between humans and dogs plays a central role. Kind, touching, fateful, irreplaceable, but sometimes complicated, initially even distrustful... A dog is said to be man's best friend. Just as people seek companionship, comfort in solitude, protection, or friendship from dogs, dogs also look for these things in humans, sometimes finding what their own kind cannot provide – understanding without words. People admire their canine friends for their loyalty, devotion, trust, and perhaps see and admire a bit of themselves in them. Some people claim they understand their dog better than their own relatives. And when a dog dies, it feels like a family member has left.
