The first part of the book contains a meditation guide spoken by the historical Buddha himself: The Buddha's Great Discourse on the Foundations of Mindfulness is presented here for the first time translated into Czech directly from the canonical Pali language. The translation of this well-known discourse, the Mahā Satipatthāna Sutta, was done by leading Czech Buddhism expert Dr. Mirko Frýba. The second part of the book features a practical meditation guide written by the venerable Mahási Sayadaw, who was the most respected meditation master of the twentieth century. Mindfulness and insight meditation, satipatthāna-vipassanā, are considered the foundation of spiritual practice by all schools of Buddhism. The third part contains further explanations of the Buddha's mindfulness and insight meditation, which has established itself in Europe as part of the practice of Áyukusala, or everyday life (áyu), skillfully managed (kusala). The book Buddha's Meditation on Mindfulness and Insight serves as a practical foundation complemented by other books on the original teachings of the Buddha.
