The largest single-volume bilingual English-Czech and Czech-English dictionary in the history of our English lexicography is based on entirely contemporary and continuously updated English and Czech language material. Great emphasis is placed on the processing of phrases and idioms, on the precise definition of word meanings using carefully chosen contextual characteristics, and on the broadest possible use of specific examples, for which the dictionary always offers an explicit translation. In both parts, the user will find more than 120,000 entries and sub-entries, over 200,000 words and phrases, and around 400,000 equivalents. Not only Czech users but also English-speaking users will surely appreciate, in addition to the exceptionally high-quality content and extensive range, the very thoughtful and clear presentation of the material, which facilitates the active use of both languages, as well as the user-friendly graphic design utilizing color printing. Due to its scope and processing, the dictionary is intended for a wide range of users - students, high school and university students, teachers, but also translators and interpreters, as well as other language professionals. On the scale according to the European Language Framework, the dictionary is intended for learners from level A1 (beginners) to C2 (very advanced).
