In the midst of a deep winter, a solitary woman stumbles through the forest near the Swedish Ormberg. Her arms are covered in scratches, her feet are bare, and she cannot remember who she is. The local police identify her as police psychologist Hanne Lagerlind-Schoen, who, along with her partner, helped solve an old case of a murdered child. Hanne is slowly recovering, but she cannot recall what happened to her boyfriend or how far they got in the investigation. The police have only one lead: a woman in a sequined dress who was seen near Hanne the night she was discovered. However, the young woman does not come forward to the police because she does not exist. In reality, it was a teenage boy, Jake Olsson, who was wandering in his mother's dress and his sister's makeup, but he is ashamed of his secret and terrified of being exposed. However, when Jake reads Hanne's diary that he found that night, he realizes he holds the key to solving the case. And when another victim is found in the forest, Jake realizes that Hanne is in mortal danger... PRESTIGIOUS GLASS KEY AWARD FOR BEST SCANDINAVIAN CRIME NOVEL OF 2017
