A night in the cloud zone can lead an unprepared person to a great drama just as sleeping on warm lava gravel on the edge of volcanoes and craters, where you feel the ash and sulfur and have no idea what lies beneath you. The book describes not only the beauty of the volcanic islands, where nature changes rapidly, but also the dangers of the journeys and experiences that one would prefer to avoid but sometimes cannot escape.
