One night, gangsters burst into the home of a young loving family and turned their lives upside down. What initially seemed like a harmless mistake – a package delivered to the wrong address – quickly turned into a nightmare for Alice and Harry French. The criminal gang stops at nothing, and if someone crosses their plans, they kill. A frantic race against time begins, a chase across England where the lives of two adults and one child are at stake. Alice and Harry soon find themselves in different places with no news of each other. Their opponents are ruthless, and the few allies that come to the couple's aid are too close to the underworld to be trusted. Alice flees with eight-week-old Evie in a carrier, and as long as she has her, she does not succumb to despair. But then the gang takes the child from her. Do the criminals want the child only as leverage to make Alice do what they need, or do they have something far worse in mind?
