Its first part introduces readers to Corydon, a boy born with a goat's leg, who is cast out from his native village for this reason. After his exile, he is captured by pirates and put in a cage, turning Corydon into a carnival attraction. In this crazy spectacle, other imprisoned monsters can also be seen in cages.
