When Iva Kohoutková's book Baking Without Gluten was published eight years ago, she had no idea that it was just the beginning. Her book was successful, and four years later, she followed it up with another one – Cooking Without Gluten. This book also received a favorable response, leading to a third book, titled Sweets Without Gluten. Sweets are an integral part of our diet, especially during various celebrations, and it's hard to imagine Christmas or Easter without them. However, people with celiac disease, or gluten intolerance, have it much worse than regular diners. The selection of gluten-free treats in stores is very limited, and they are often not cheap. Iva Kohoutková dedicated her pastry guide to them. She gathered around 300 recipes for all kinds of sweets that can be prepared at home, along with recipes for various creams and glazes. She also included a number of practical tips, as working with gluten-free ingredients can be tricky and requires considerable caution. The author draws on her own long-term experience and willingly shares it on various occasions, including in this book, which she supplemented with her own photographs.
