Stitch Spring Bird, a cross stitch cushion kit by Orchidea — a bluebird perches on a birdhouse above a wooden fence with daffodils and tulips. A little stitcher's folklore: Native Americans are said to have hung hollow gourds as the first birdhouses, for purple martins. Why this kit: the design is printed on Zweigart canvas and worked in soft acrylic yarn with a gentle sheen, so it makes up into a hard-wearing 40 cm cushion.
