The bathhouse was one of the essential railway items in the heyday of the SL, but unfortunately it seems to have disappeared along with the SL and its role, making it one of the most difficult subjects to find a surviving prototype. In addition to the formative interest of the exterior, such as the chimney, boiler and washroom, Okakura's attention to detail can be felt in the narrative that neatly reproduces even the inside of the bathhouse, where the day's fatigue, soot and sweat have been washed away. It is a small structure, but a fine work of art. You will enjoy this condensed world.
