The long red coloured boat and the lighter red of trees in the background frame the lady in victorian dress stepping onto the boat in "A Boating Party" by Sargent. The impressionist application of mostly red hues also shows a male in a smaller red row boat in the foreground with figure on the dock. The pale light of the sky filters through the trees and picks up on the partially white dress of the woman whose outstretched arms give her a feminine and dainty charm.
