I had been watching this black bear for a while before the frame settled. Yellowstone mornings can feel busy with traffic and other photographers, but this stretch of the park had gone quiet. The bear moved without hurry, pausing at the edge of a meadow where the light was still soft and the grass held dew. What caught my attention was the stillness itself. Not a dramatic pose, just a moment when an animal chose to stop and let the morning catch up. I kept my distance and waited for the composition to simplify: bear, grass, the pale gold beginning to build in the trees behind him. Wildlife has never cared how far I drove. I almost left when nothing happened for the first twenty minutes. I am glad I stayed. The pause became the photograph.
