I’ve had a couple of friends who have been going through a rough patch recently. One lost her dear cat and the other lost her father. I wanted to give them each a little gift to let them know I was thinking of them. With the re-launch of GreenCraft quickly approaching, I’ve been spending a lot of time looking at back issues, and I was inspired to go through my stash of things I’ve been rescuing from the recycling bin. I’m not quite sure when it happened, but I turned into my grandmother and tend to hang on to any sort of gift-wrap or packaging I receive. I also have a number of books I’ve rescued from the bin that are damaged, which works well because I wouldn’t be able to just destroy a perfectly fine book for my crafting needs. I also keep a supply of used paper bags on hand because any printing can be covered up with some paint or paper. To wrap a nice bar of chocolate, I used a brown paper bag that had a logo on it, which I covered with a bit of vintage paper. I layered a tag with a fabric scrap that was torn from an old bed sheet, and then stapled them to the bag. To seal, fold the top of the bag down and secure with an old clothespin and a bit of greenery.
