A Nice Cuppa is the seventh game in the Button Shy Simply Solo series. These are games that are one player only, light on rules, and big on replayability. Demanding jobs, unpaid bi lls, health concerns: modern life is filled with constant worry. Let your burdens drift away, if only for a moment, in the rich aromatic steam of your favorite tea. A Nice Cuppa tasks the player with managing worries through careful card management across 8 turns. As worries are revealed, they complicate your life and force you to become distracted. Focus on your tea to eliminate those pesky problems and soothe your shattered nerves. Once your tea is ready, evaluate how you did. 1 Player 15 Minutes Ages 14+ Button Shy hand assembled games are labeled for ages 14+ EXPANSIONS: Seasonal Stresses (4 Stress Cards) Every season seems to bring a new challenge that complicates your normal routine. Addressing it head-on may help you feel better, as long as you don't ignore your other concerns! This 4-card expansion introduces unique Stress cards. Add one random Stress card above your Tea line at the start of the game. Should you complete the card’s requirement, such as having 4 Distracted Tea cards at once, you may immediately use its bonus effect then remove it from play. If you’re unable to eliminate your Stress, you’ll suffer negative points at the end of the game. A Good Book (2 Tea Cards, 3 Worry Cards) Few things pair together as nicely as a warm cup of tea and a good book. Let the worries of the world go as you settle in for a nice relaxing read. This 5-card expansion adds 2 new Tea cards and 3 new Worries to manage. Use a full set of 9 Tea Cards (and correspondingly 9 Worries) to play through a longer, more challenging game. Can you pay attention to both your tea and book through a full 10 turns? Pets (4 Pet Cards) Pets can be great companions, but they have minds of their own. Work around your attention-seeking pet as you prepare your tea. This 4-card expansion adds a menagerie of adorable pets. Whichever one you have, you’ll need to split your focus between your tea and your pet’s interference. Choose a random pet and place it above the row of tea cards. Each pet has its own movement pattern as well as its own restriction which makes the game more difficult. Play and score as normal. Something Sweet (5 Confection Cards) It’s impossible to relax when you’re hungry. Grab a sugary snack while you’re waiting for your tea. This 5-card expansion adds a variety of delicious sweets. While a quick sugar boost can help you stay on track while preparing your tea, make sure to finish your snack before you sit down! Shuffle the new cards and place them nearby, removing one from the deck without looking at it. Instead of swapping two tea cards on your turn, you may reveal the top sweet card and immediately resolve it. Each sweet has a specific effect that flips, rearranges, or otherwise manipulates your teas and worries. At the end of the game, lose points for each uneaten sweet.
