One of the first of our range of exciting New Zealand-bred hybrids to be released, 'First Dance' has certainly impressed us, not least by extending the season significantly. The la vender-mauve blooms appear exceptionally early, blooming even before the tree peonies here, and more than three weeks earlier than ‘Red Charm’. The sweetly fragrant flowers can be over 20cm wide, and are both a rare and unusual colour, exhibiting excellent weather tolerance and providing a remarkable spring display.
