Ruth Brown Kroscher This early 20th century pastel on paper nude study is by the artist Ruth Brown Kroscher (1893-1986) who was a Chicago artist, teacher, and botanist. She studied at Northwestern University and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, and taught art in Wisconsin until 1919. She lectured on and wrote a book about roses with her husband's photography that is still unpublished.
