Paul McCoy This mid 20th century oil on canvas geometric abstract study in pastel tomes is by California artist Paul McCoy (1921-2005). An artist and writer, he studied at New York 's Pratt Institute and Cornell University, where he graduated with a MA in Literature. In the late 1950s McCoy moved to Majorca, Spain. Following in the footsteps of the European Modernists Picasso and Cezanne, he studied the Mediterranean palette, painting local people and architecture. McCoy returned to California in the 1960s where he continued to paint coastal life with a European influence. Mid 20th Century Oil on Canvas 40.25"x40.25" framed, 39.75"x39.75" unframed Signed upper left. Good vintage condition. Framed in a contemporary hand-built lath wood frame with a black finish.
