A Pale White Dot is the eighth studio album by American progressive metal band Periphery, released on May 15, 2026 through their own label 3DOT Recordings. It is their shortest full-length to date at around 47 minutes and 12 tracks, and marks a break from the “Periphery I–V” naming convention and the visual three-dot logo, signaling a deliberate reset in both concept and presentation. Written and produced by the band, it was introduced with the singles Mr. God and Everyone Dies Alone, and features the group’s first use of 30-inch baritone six-string guitars tuned down to an unusually low F standard with the lowest string dropped to Bb, contributing to a denser, more ominous low end.Lyrically and thematically, A Pale White Dot draws on and inverts Carl Sagan’s famous “pale blue dot” image, turning the focus inward to explore loneliness in its many forms—personal, social, existential, and even technological.
