Mary McFadden Ivory quilted jacket and matching Fortuny style pleated short skirt set. This beautiful set is perfect for any special occasion and would even make a stunning wedding outfit. The open front jacket has a high stand away neckline a design that was iconic to her. The jacket is horizontally quilted and has a soft sculpted look. The sleeves are long and shaped with welt cord along the outside vertical seam. There are hip pockets at either side seam. Unlined all seams are finished. The matching skirt is short with a thing cased elastic waist, the skirt pulls on. Done in McFadden's Fortuny tribute pleats, which are irregular tight pleats. Marked size 10. From the 1980s.
