After years and years of dreaming of her own home, she would now be stepping into it in just a few days and she needed to get so many things in order. Her countdown calendar reminded her that bliss was not far away. Yet, she had a lot of work to do and so she did not want to stop and feel it. Even then, a little of the joy did seep in and it shook her heart in an amazing way. New beginnings are indeed the best kind of joys in the world, she mused. And, she was not wrong! This screen-printed red and white made-in-heaven mul saree is a celebration by itself! Description The designs on this fabric come alive on our made-in-heaven mul sarees through an intricate process known as screen-printing. This process involves the usage of a mesh-screen made of synthetic polymers that is strung onto a metal or wooden frame at high tension. A stencil with the negative image of what is to be printed is placed beneath the screen and emulsion is applied to create a positive image that lets the dye seep through the screen. The dye is then applied on the fabric through the screen to print the desired image. The base fabric for these sarees is the forever-favourite made-in-heaven mul. The mul cotton is what we call ‘made in heaven’ at Suta. Known in West Bengal as mul mul, the fabric is buttery soft and delicately beautiful. The weave of this fabric is very fine, and this lends a very fluid texture to it that makes draping it a breeze. It is truly like a hug that wraps you in its love!
