Finished Size: 28.5" Square Designed by Annemarie S. Yohnk for Qults Remembered. Born in 1744, Abigail Adams was the second First Lady of the United States. While her husband John was away from home forming the newly established government, they kept their relationship alive through numerous letters, both romantic and political in nature. In one of their more famous exchanges, Abigail implores him to "remember the ladies" when drafting the Constitution, and "be more favorable to them than your ancestors”. This expressed her belief in equal rights for women, which would not be fully realized for nearly 150 years with the ratification of the 19th Amendment on August 18, 1920.
