Plaster life mask of Abraham Lincoln, finished with a bronze top coat to replicate the depth and weight of metal while remaining true to its sculptural origins. Modeled after the o riginal plaster mask taken by Leonard Volk in 1860, this example was cast by Erick Erickson, who became noted for producing historically accurate reproductions of presidential likenesses. The piece faithfully preserves Lincoln's distinct features-closed eyes, deep brow, and firm mouth-capturing the gravity and introspection that defined his visage. The bronze coating emphasizes light and shadow across the surface, lending a dramatic presence suitable for display in both private and institutional collections. This life mask exhibits minor surface abrasions and subtle wear to the bronze finish consistent with age.
