Doug Petry of Louisville’s Rye restaurant devised this absinthe-based old fashioned. It reads quite sweet but it rounds out nicely into a surprisingly delicious cocktail. Ingredien ts: ½ oz Classic Gum Syrup 1 ½ oz absinthe ½ oz elderflower liqueur 4 dashes Peychaud's bitters Instructions: Add all ingredients except bitters to a mixing glass with ice Stir 20 seconds and strain into a chilled rocks glass Dash bitters on top Glass: rocks Garnish: none Photo: Scott Kallstrand Show more
