Curious about abstract art? Join me for a relaxed, intimate 3-hour workshop designed to demystify abstract painting and help you re-connect. Hi, my name's Krissy and I'm a professional abstract artist. In my small historic mill studio, we’ll explore colour, texture, contrast and composition — but most importantly, we’ll learn to trust the process. This session focuses on the therapeutic power of abstract art: letting go of perfection, embracing “mistakes,” and discovering the magic in surprise. All materials provided. Tea, coffee & biscuits included. No experience needed — just an open mind. This is an ideal gift for Mother's Day or a birthday. There are only 6 spaces per session and just 3 dates available in April and May at the moment, although I may open up more dates depending on demand. Hurry to avoid disappointment! LOCATION: Park Mill, Holcombe Road, Helmshore, BB4 4NP What You’ll Explore What abstract art really is (and why it’s harder than it looks!) Letting go of perfection and trusting the process Mark-making and intuitive expression Creating contrast: soft vs hard, thick vs thin, light vs dark Working with depth, texture, tone and negative space The “messy middle” — and why you shouldn’t panic! How to refine and elevate your work without losing its soul We’ll focus on both: Process (freedom, emotion, play) Principles (composition, contrast, balance, visual interest) Because abstract art isn’t random — it’s a dance of opposites.
