A vibrant and expressive landscape by Swedish artist Bo Swenson (1932-2022), showcasing his confident gestural brushwork and richly textured application of oil paint. Bold passages of ochre, deep green and charcoal create a striking, semi-abstract composition that balances energy with a strong sense of landscape. Beautifully presented in a simple timber float frame, the work is signed lower right and remains in great vintage condition. Swenson was a prominent Swedish modernist painter and printmaker known for vibrant, dynamic abstract compositions inspired by memory and nature. A graduate of the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, he worked for decades from a studio in Hagaparken, creating art described as "modernist nature romanticism" with a focus on motion and intense colour. His pieces are held in major public collections, including the Swedish National Museum and Moderna Museet in Stockholm as well as internationally.
