Blushing Belle Flowering Maple. Of course this is not a maple, but the leaf just remotely resembles the shape of some maple species. This Hibiscus cousin was developed by abutilon breeder, Sage Reynolds. It is an upright grower with large flowers which have a deeper pink on the outer edge of its petals fading to white towards the center. When grown indoors during the winter and given enough light, it will flower through the short days. It is best to mulch the base when grown in its outdoor zones so that in case of a polar vortex, one can have plenty of protected buds to sprout back out next spring. Zones 8-10 Show more
