Abyme is based on the "mise en abyme" concept, a narrative or artistic technique in which a work contains a smaller version, reflection, or representation of itself, creating a self-referential structure. It often involves a story within a story, an image within an image, or any element that mirrors the overall work. This vibrant display typeface produces striking visuals that are ideal for graphic compositions and maximalist experimentation. Version 2.0 of Abyme introduces three distinct weights: ×111, ×222, and ×333 expanding the typeface into a more versatile visual system. Each style pushes the structure further, allowing you to move between sharp contrast, dense compositions, and more immersive typographic experiments. Built for impactful display use, Abyme thrives in ASCII projects, editorial layouts, branding, and contemporary visual identities. Its layered, self-referential forms create bold compositions that feel both graphic and conceptual, making it ideal for designers exploring digital and experimental design. The characters are all based on the ÆUROPA Typeface available on 6TM® MAGAZINE.
