This is a useful trait because typically when emergency backup power is needed, it is difficult to evenly administer the voltage from the backup source. The inconsistent flow of electrical current tends to cause the overhead transmission lines to sag. This conductor shows significantly less sag under these circumstances due to its high strength steel core.
