Actichem Percide Boost 5ltr
Product Overview Actichem’s Percide Boost accelerates the micro-organism killing power and destaining ability of Percide. Percide Boost is an activator, not a stand-alone product. It is added to Percide at 1 part Boost to 9 parts Percide. With that easy 1:9 mixing ratio it is convenient in use and produces dramatic results — everything the original Percide offers, but faster, and on heavy-duty work with less effort. Take mould eradication as a case in point: the 1:9 Percide Boost and Percide mix destroys mould in five minutes. Percide’s peroxide formula has a lethal effect on mould spores, and when mixed with Percide Boost the hydroxyl reaction on mould growth is dramatically accelerated. That reduces the time required to eliminate spores and to lift and remove discolouration and soiling. Actichem report that the Percide and Percide Boost mix takes only 5 minutes to achieve a greater than 4.5 log reduction when tested against Aspergillus brasiliensis. Read the safety section before you open this container. Percide on its own is a mild product — signal word WARNING, not classified as dangerous goods. Percide Boost is not. It is a corrosive Class 8 dangerous good. The two are sold together and used together, and their pages have not made that difference clear until now. Benefits Advanced peroxide formula — Percide comprises a unique peroxide formula for disinfection and mould eradication performance in an easy-to-use form. Penetration — the anti-microbial package is combined with super-wetting technology, enabling the biocide to penetrate faster and deeper into the inner structure of fibre and porous substrates. Cleaning and destaining — lifts mould from surface pores and provides cleaning and destaining action on mould and bacterial discolouration. Eliminates odours — at their source, by anti-microbial action against odour-causing germs. Inherently biodegradable — an environmentally responsible choice at working dilution. How to Use Always pre-test in an inconspicuous location for substrate sensitivity to chemicals. Observe all safety directions and read the SDS before use. Percide is suitable on most carpets and fabrics; some delicate fibres, and fibres destabilised by disaster activity, could be affected. Mixing Percide itself requires no dilution. Mix 9 parts Percide and 1 part Percide Boost for enhanced cleaning action. Use within 6 hours. Never apply Percide Boost neat to a surface. It is not a cleaning product on its own and at pH 10.4 to 10.6 with potassium hydroxide it will damage substrates that the mixed solution will not. Application Remove and clean away all wet and dry debris. Apply the Percide solution to the affected area. Ensure all surfaces come into contact with the solution. Apply by spray, wet fog, mop or cloth. Agitate briefly where possible to promote penetration into porous substrates. Thorough agitation will dramatically aid mould and stain removal. Allow a minimum of 1 minute dwell time for disinfection, or 10 minutes for mould remediation. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Repeat for heavy mould conditions. Note: for heavy mould situations, mix Percide with Percide Boost for accelerated eradication and cleaning performance, and agitate thoroughly. After cleaning and disinfection is complete, Percide can be applied as a post-residual treatment for enhanced inhibition of fresh mould growth. Safety Please read this section even if you have used this product before. Earlier versions of this page carried no hazard information at all, and described the chemistry as low-toxicity and easy to use. That description belongs to Percide. It does not describe Percide Boost. Percide Boost is classified as a HAZARDOUS CHEMICAL and DANGEROUS GOODS under the Model WHS Regulations and the ADG Code. It is a Poisons Schedule 6 substance. Signal word: DANGER H314 — causes severe skin burns and eye damage GHS: Serious Eye Damage Category 1; Skin Corrosion/Irritation Category 1B HAZCHEM code: 2X pH as supplied: 10.4 to 10.6 Actives: potassium hydroxide, glycolic acid, sodium carbonate, EDTA tetrasodium salt, potassium pyrophosphate, a quaternary ammonium compound and a proprietary surfactant — each below 10% Transport: UN1760, Class 8, Packing Group II, proper shipping name “CORROSIVE LIQUID, N.O.S. The concentrate in this container is not. Every splash risk with this product happens at the moment you decant and mix it — that is when the goggles matter. Personal protective equipment The SDS specifies elbow-length PVC gloves, chemical goggles, overalls and a PVC apron, with access to an eyewash unit. First aid Eyes. Hold the eyelids apart and flush the eye continuously with running water for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention without delay — H314 means eye damage can be permanent. Skin. Remove contaminated clothing and footwear immediately and flush with large amounts of water. Alkaline burns are often painless at first and deepen over minutes. Mixing and Compatibility Avoid contact with acids and oxidising agents. Percide Boost is alkaline; mixing it with a strong acid releases heat quickly enough to boil and spit corrosive liquid. Never mix, and never allow contact in a bucket, sprayer, fogger tank, drain or on the floor, with: Actichem Grout Restore 60, Grout Restore 20, Tile & Grout Restore, Crete Clean, Rust Remover or any acid rinse or descaler Actichem Chlorosan, Mould Exterminator, pool chlorine or any hypochlorite Actichem Perox, Oxyboost Plus or any other oxidiser The only thing Percide Boost should ever be mixed with is Percide, at 1:9.
