As Muto’s campaign escalates, Superman aids the Atlanteans in repelling one of Muto’s lieutenants who threatens Atlantis. Muto then unleashes a growth ray that enlarges the people of Metropolis to colossal size. Superman reverses the effects of the growth ray and confronts Muto directly. After deducing his enemy’s weakness, Superman opens a space-warp capable of returning Muto to his home dimension. With Muto banished, Superman hopes the menace will never again threaten the future of Earth. 🔥 Brainiac's Blitz! With the Justice League of America off-world, Superman asks Supergirl to safeguard Earth in his absence. Meanwhile, Brainiac prepares a new arsenal designed specifically to destroy Superman and heads toward Earth. Linda Danvers becomes alarmed by reports of a flying saucer over Metropolis and quickly recognizes Brainiac’s ship. Supergirl confronts Brainiac but is unable to breach his force-shield. Frustrated, Brainiac traps her inside a Kryptonite cage enhanced with Omicron rays. When Superman approaches, Brainiac disintegrates the cage and retreats, believing Supergirl defeated. However, Supergirl escapes by slipping between the cage bars and retaliates by hurling Brainiac’s ship into the Sun. Though Brainiac escapes via teleportation, Superman later commends Supergirl for her bravery and determination.
