To better understand the functioning of the brain, it is necessary to precisely understand the activity of neurons and their network. Using extracellular in vivo electrophysiologic al recordings, it is possible to monitor neuronal activity from outside the cell. It provides a means to measure patterns of action potentials within many areas of the nervous systems. Since the extracellular recording are not neuron specific, we developed two kinds of systems where electrical recording is combined with two different techniques (Optogenetics and photometry).
