The highest achievable rank of protection we have to offer is our state-of-the-art ceramic coatings, which require multiple steps to ensure a flawless application. The last step before the ceramic coating process is a thorough wipe with an IPA (Iso Propyl Alcohol) based solution to remove any existing residues or surface contaminants left behind during the polishing process. If this step isn’t executed properly, all the hard work and efforts you’ve previously performed can all go to waste. In each of our ceramic coating kits, we have previously supplied our Coating Prep with a 12% IPA mixture as an effective tool for the coating process. As we have furthered our ceramics offering, and deeply invested ourselves into perfecting ceramics for both the professional and the consumer, we noticed that our previous Coating Prep tended to slightly grab and wasn’t as slick as we wanted during our final wipe downs. We have worked diligently through countless iterations of our new Surface Prep to perfect the formula for easy application, fast evaporation, and effective removal for pre-protection applications. Adam’s Surface Prep leaves surfaces bare and free of any residue, as a necessary step before applying an Adam’s Ceramic Coating. The adjusted formula allows for the towel to easily glide over a panel, reducing the risk of final scratches, and quickly evaporates after wiping with the increased amount of IPA concentration. Ceramic coatings like Adam's Paint Coating, Adam's Trim Coating, Adam’s Wheel Coating, and Adam’s Ceramic Spray Coating provide extremely durable protection using cutting-edge technology to the detailing community. Adam's Ceramic Coatings use Si02 (silica) to provide long-lasting protection, even more durable than our Paint Sealant and Americana Paste Wax. However, before applying a ceramic coating, it's very important to take the necessary steps to make application of the coating a smooth process. The surface needs to be as clean as possible to accomplish this. For exterior trim, Adam's Trim Cleaner is a quick and perfect way to scrub textured plastic and rubber trim free of dirt and oxidation, but making sure a painted surface is ready for one of our coating options requires much more preparation. After a proper Two Bucket Wash and Visco Clay Bar treatment, if necessary, we strongly encourage paint correction by machine polishing before one of our coatings to your vehicle’s paint or wheels. Ceramic coatings are a more expensive investment than our other protection products like Paint Sealant or Buttery Wax, and they also require more technique to apply. Performing paint correction with a Swirl Killer will make the surface as free of imperfections, swirls, water spot etching, scratches, and stains as possible. If you don't remove these prior to applying Adam's ceramic coating, the coating may make them stand out more, and the only way to correct them after it has been applied and cured is to then machine polish the coating back off, so it's better to do things right the first time. Once the surface has been polished or scrubbed to appear as perfect as possible, this is where Adam’s Surface Prep steps in. Adam's Surface Prep will remove any remaining residue from Trim Cleaner on trim pieces, as well as polish residue and dust on paint, leaving the surface bare and as clean as possible. Instructions: 1. Ensure that the surface has been washed and is as clean as possible. Machine polish any painted surfaces if necessary to remove any swirl marks or scratches.2. Spray Adam’s Surface Prep into a clean premium microfiber towel, or onto the surface to be coated.3. Wipe the area with the towel, ensuring that you cover the entire surface thoroughly. Each area that is missed risks having a faulty substrate underneath, allowing the coating to not adhere entirely.4. After the surface is completely dry, move onto application of the appropriate Adam’s Coating, Protection, or Sealant.
