Made to order, by hand, in a Bologna atelier. The shape is a baroque cartouche - the scrolled, cusped frame that has bordered names and coats of arms in Italian palazzi for centuri es. Borgo Delle Tovaglie's Adele puts it around a place setting, stripped to the line that defines it: the outer edge bound in a contrasting colour, and a quieter version of the same shape echoed inside in a line of dotted embroidery. Two frames, no flourishes. Each mat is hand-cut to the shape, made in heavy Italian linen with the house's stain-resistant treatment, by hand in the Bologna atelier. Show more
