A strip of rosewood built into the mahogany neck reinforces it against backbow and ensures stability, working in tandem with the quality golden lyre machine heads. The Spanish heel is a complicated neck joint where neck and heel are carved from one piece of wood that is interlocked with the sides of the body, giving enhanced tonal qualities compared to a standard glued neck design.
